UPSC NDA 2024 Notification (OUT) Application Form Out Apply Now

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) released the notification for UPSC NDA 1 2024 on December 20, 2023. Interested candidates must complete the application for UPSC NDA 2024 between December 20, 2023, and January 9, 2024. NDA 1 2024 is scheduled to take place on April 21, 2024.

UPSC conducts the NDA examination twice a year to select eligible candidates for the Army, Navy, and Air Force wings of the National Defense Academy and Indian Naval Academy Course (INAC). The selection process includes a written exam and an SSB Interview.

UPSC NDA 2024 notification indicates that there are 395 vacancies across the Army, Navy, and Air Force. Attaining success in the examination would open extraordinary opportunities to wear these prestigious uniforms and shine in the respective services.

According to the UPSC NDA 2024 eligibility criteria, both male and female candidates, aged between 16.5 and 19.5 years and have passed class 12 or are appearing for the class 12 examination in the current academic year can apply. According to the official update the notification for NDA 2 2024 will be released on May 15, 2024, and the last date to apply is June 4, 2024.

UPSC NDA 2024 Application Form

Online application for NDA 1 2024 is made available by the commission at upsc.gov.in on December 20, 2023. Eligible candidates can apply for the examination by filling out Part I of the One Time Registration (OTR) form and completing Part II of the application form to be eligible to attend the UPSC NDA 2024 examination.

The application fee is INR 100 for the general candidates and SC/ST/NOCs/Sons of JCOs/ORS category applicants are exempted from paying the NDA application fee.

How to apply for UPSC NDA 2024?

The steps to fill out the UPSC NDA application form are mentioned below;

  • Interested candidates must visit the official website of UPSC.
  • New users should complete the OTR (One-Time Registration) Process.
  • NDA application includes two parts, Part I & Part II.
  • Part I comprises registration, choosing the preferred branch, verifying personal details, and generation of registration ID.
  • Registered users can complete the NDA 2024 application form after logging in to the website with their registration ID and password.
  • Applicants can pay the application fees, select their preferred exam center, and upload scanned images of passport-sized photographs and signatures in Part II.
  • After completing both parts successfully, applicants can submit the NDA 2024 application form.
  • Take the printout of your NDA application form and fee transaction receipt for future reference. 

NDA 2024 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates are eligible to apply for defense sector jobs only if they meet the basic requirements. NDA 2024 eligibility criteria, including Education, Age Limit, Nationality, and Physical Standards are outlined below;

Age limit 

NDA 2024 applicants must be aged between 16.5 and 19.5 (born between July 2, 2002, and July 1, 2005).

Educational Qualification

Candidates who are interested in the Army wing must have completed Class 12.

Candidates for the Indian Naval Academy’s 10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme and the Air Force must have completed Class 12 with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects.

Physical Measurement

The minimum height requirement for the Army, and Naval Academy is 157 cm, while for the Air Force, it is 162.5 cm.

UPSC NDA 2024 Examination Pattern

The UPSC NDA examination is divided into two parts, a written test and an SSB interview. Details regarding the UPSC NDA 2024 examination are provided below;

NDA 2024 Examination Pattern-Written Test

NDA written test consists of two papers- Mathematics and General Ability Test (GAT). Both papers comprise objective-type multiple-choice questions (MCQs). The mathematics paper includes 120 questions for 300 marks, while the GAT paper includes 150 questions for 600 marks. Each paper has a duration of 2.30 hours.

NDA 2024 Examination Pattern-SSB Interview

The SSB interview consists of two stages. Stage 1 includes Officer Intelligence Rating (OIR) tests and Picture Perception and Description Test (PP&DT). Stage 2 involves Group Testing Officer Tasks, Psychology Tests, and Discussion. The SSB interview carries a total of 900 marks.

UPSC NDA 2024 Syllabus

Mathematics: Algebra, Calculus, Trigonometry, Vector Algebra, Integral Calculus and Differential Equations, Matrices and Determinants, Analytical Geometry of Two and Three Dimension, and Statistics and Probability.

General Ability Test (GAT): UPSC NDA GAT syllabus is divided into Part A and Part B. Part A includes questions from English, covering Grammar and Usage, Vocabulary, Comprehension, and Cohesion. Part B comprises General Knowledge questions. Questions in General Knowledge which includes topics such as Physics, Chemistry, General Science, Social Studies, Geography, and Current Affairs.

UPSC NDA 2024 Selection Process

Many young students aspiring to join the Indian Army attend the NDA examination with a large number of applicants each year. 

The primary objective of UPSC NDA is to choose cadets to join the National Defense Academy (NDA) and subsequently be commissioned as officers in the Indian Army. 

The NDA selection process consists of 3 stages;

  • Written test: The candidates are required to pass the written test.
  • Interview with the Service Selection Board (SSB): Candidates who pass the NDA written test will be invited to appear for an interview.
  • Medical Examination: To determine the fitness of candidates to serve in the Indian Army, a comprehensive medical examination is conducted after the interview process for the successful candidates.
